ANTI ACID

Anti-Acid Service: Protection and Maintenance for Long-Term Durability

Natural stone has always been used for dining tables, bar counters, dining areas, etc. As a natural stone of unique beauty, it adds prestige to any space, highlighting the personality of the owner.

At Terra di Marmo, we frequently hear our clients say:

  • “I applied waterproofing, but as soon as some Coca-Cola spilled, it left a white stain!”
  • “I placed a cold glass of water on the black marble, and it left a mark that won’t go away!”
  • “The housekeeper used descaling products on the bathroom tap and ruined the expensive marble countertop!”
  • “Our restaurant customers wrote in their reviews that our tables are stained and dirty!”
  • “A little lemon juice spilled on my brand-new, expensive kitchen counter and left a round white stain!”
  • “A guest in room 405 complained that the black marble bathroom countertop looked dirty, even though housekeeping had just cleaned it!”

All of these issues are the result of marble coming into contact with something acidic. No waterproofing can protect marble from this type of damage. To fix the problem, the marble surface must be polished again from scratch—something we often do.

But the question remains: What happens after the new polish? If something acidic spills on it, even right after, the same issue will occur.

The solution is simple and is called anti-acid RAKU.
RAKU is an almost invisible final coating that protects the sensitive marble surface from all stains—not only acidic ones, which are the most dangerous, but also oil, fruit, and more.

If you don’t want to worry for a long time about what spills on your marble surfaces, there’s only one solution: anti-acid RAKU.

We have applied anti-acid RAKU to kitchen countertops, restaurant tables, dining tables, hotel reception desks, bar counters, hotel nightstands, and any other natural surfaces that come into contact with food.

Terra di Marmo is certified by the Italian company Lantania, the manufacturer of anti-acid RAKU, and our technicians have been trained by our Italian colleagues.
